Weekly wrap with a change in scenery!

Sometimes a change in scenery does a body good!  A good friend makes the mind good too!  I grabbed to opportunity to head out-of-town part of the week and it was just what the doctor ordered- live, love and laugh!  Oh my did we laugh!  No worries I still got some workouts in so thanks for stopping by!

Sunday on the plan:  6 easy miles was the goal.  My BRF and I talked so much we ran 6.5 before we realized we were done.  I like those kind of runs!  11:20 pace  AVG HR 154

Monday on the plan:  REST!  I started my Monday with a 60 minute Yin yoga class.  AVG HR 77  The rest of the day I spent with the grand baby .  If you missed my Friday post click here and you can read all about it!

Tuesday on the plan:  4 miles with strides.  Can we say, it is warming up!  4.4 miles  11:00 min pace AVG HR 158

Wednesday on the plan:  REST!  I had only 2627 steps but I drove over 500 miles!  The rainstorms did not get in my way and I successfully made it to Woodstock, Georgia.  Let the shenanigans begin!

Thursday on the plan:  5 miles tempo run.  I moved my run to Friday and took advantage of the opportunity to take a Pure Barre class.  If you have never taken one, it can be a little difficult at first.  The movements are small but very precise , the language is very standard but the results are big!  My thighs were shaking and my core was begging for mercy!  Both Kitty and her daughter are Pure Barre instructors and I love to take one or more of their classes when I am in town.  Class 60 minutes  AVG HR 100

this weeks most liked Instagram post! Thanks for the love!

Friday on the plan:  Trust me when I say no one wanted to get up with me and get any miles in!  It was 42 degrees so I grabbed a long sleeve shirt and went outside.  Coach M knew I was in Georgia so there was no backing out of this run.  She text me and told me to forget the tempo pace and run the neighborhood and hit as many hills as I could.  Mission accomplished!  AVG Pace 12:30  AVG HR 151 and Fitbit gave me credit for 47 floors for that run- holy hills!!!!!

Saturday on the plan:  REST and over 500 miles back home!  Visits are never long enough but I had so much fun!  There was lots of shopping, drinking, eating, talking, and laughing!  Do you snapchat?  OMG, that is the funniest thing ever!  I also had some wingman duties to complete and I am happy to report that I was successful in that department.  There is a lunch date planned for Tuesday and I am thrilled!  I can’t wait to hear how it goes!  We also made it down to the big city, Atlanta, and saw a musical.  Now if I could figure out how to make a living as a professional wingman I may have found my next career!  hehe

Coach M and I are starting to kick it in high gear as we prepare for Utah!  Talk about a change in scenery!  We are upping the bridge work and throwing in lots of squats!  Don’t forget you can still join us!  Use code MB15 for 15% off your registration!

    Never done Pure Barre yet.

Yes, I’d love a change in scenery right now. At least now that the snow is gone, I can vary my running routes.

I’ll be NYC for the weekend in a few weeks and then I may I head off to Naples, Fla.

So what did you think? I think it is hard to judge after just one class, I had to take several before I felt sort of comfortable.

I have to say, I did snapchat for the first time at Christmas and I nearly died laughing! I have tears streaming down my face! 🙂 Good think you were able to bypass the crazy georgia flooding. 🙁 I’d love to take a BARR class, but I’m afraid I’ll be so sore it will mess with my marathon training.

Snapchat- LMAO! It was hilarious, I am sure people were wondering what the heck we were laughing so hard about- I like to make them wonder! I bet you are stronger than you think and would get thru a barre class with ease!

  11. Marcia says:

Oh I’m glad you didn’t skip out on that hilly run. When in GA you MUST run the hills! I went to one Pure Barre class. The instructor wore bedazzled everything. She must have had her bedazzler working overtime. Glad you had fun!

    So much fun!

I do like a change of scenery from time to time. As a matter of fact, I will be getting one in the morning. Yay!

Pure Barre is ok. I have only tried one class so not sure if I’ve given it a fair shake.

Sounds like you had a blast! I haven’t tried a pure barre class. I’d probably be bad at it since my core is so weak! I would love to try it at some point though! Ah I wish I could go to Utah for the run. I’m sure it will be beautiful. Looking forward to following your training!

Give the pure barre class a try sometime you might be surprised! Utah is going to be a blast and I am going to enjoy some of the new exercises that Coach M has sent me. I gotta really focus on the butt to run 13.1 miles down hill 🙂
