Slowing down, it is summer! Weekly wrap

Anyone else feel like you are slowing down?   The temps are up and my motivation is low!  Not a good combo but it is summer.  Time for lazy days by the pool, lots of fresh air, fresh veggies, fresh seafood, and chilled wine!  AWWWWW that sounds like a winning combo to me!

So I am basically having a lazy weekend.  Lazy in a good way!  I took a quick and speedy trip to Minneapolis this past week and it was a whirlwind of activity.  I should have some news to share with you in the next couple of weeks.  Until then, let’s get to the wrap!

Sunday on the plan:  Father’s day!  My hubby had both of his boys come over to visit and we had lunch.  Grumpa also got to visit with his granddaughter.  I cannot believe she is 4 months old already!  Say Hi to Briar!

Monday on the plan:  Never miss a Monday was on my mind and I jumped right up and out for some Monday morning yoga.  Yin yoga to be exact, oh, it felt so good!  60 MIN AVG HR 68

Tuesday on the plan:  4 miles with a fast finish.  I could feel myself sloshing thru these 4 miles.  My sweat was sweating and I thought for sure I was slowing down.  Nope, I managed to pull it out!  11:05/10:45/10:42/10:34  AVG HR 152

Wednesday on the plan:  Monday’s yoga class felt so good I decided to take advantage of the lunch time yoga class and spend a little more time on my mat.  Do you yoga?  It is never a bad decision!  60 min AVG HR 76

Thursday on the plan:  3 easy miles and then, I needed to head to the airport.  11:39/10:55/10:49 AVG HR 148   I booked my last-minute flight on Southwest and getting out of Orlando was easy.  The plane landed in Chicago and I changed planes.  This one, not so easy!  We sat on the plane sweating for an hour before we got off the plane, changed gates, and got on another flight.  This put me about 1 1/2 hours late getting into Minneapolis.  I was pooped but not too tired to enjoy a quick order of fish and chips before I went to bed.

Friday on the plan:  Business meeting all day and then I went right back to the airport.  I did not look this fresh when I came dragging in a 2:15am!  Whew, it was a long day of meetings and interviews.

Saturday on the plan:  REST!  and REST some more!  Summer date night with the hubby and more REST!

This week was not big on miles and I feel the full effects of summer already!  Good morning Monday morning, it is time to get back to it!

Are you feeling summer yet?  Slowing down or are you slowly warming up?

I am linking up with Holly and Tricia and special guest Zenaida,  join us!

Awww look at that big girl already! I feel like I’m just ramping up here. Plus it’s crazy cool. 55 degrees this morning. On my rest day of course!

  2. I don’t do much air travel, but it always stresses me out because you’re at THEIR mercy.. And I’m not a type-A need-to-be-in-control kind of person…I just simply hate being put off. Yes, I am feeling the effects of summer, but in a different way. I want to get outside and move but am (currently) cooped up inside under an ice pack with my leg hoisted LOL I know…this is temporary, right? 😉

Looks like you had a great week of workouts! The photo for your Tuesday run made me laugh so hard. I think we have all felt that way when running in the heat and humidity.

Flight delays suck! And it is even worse when you have to wait on the plane.

  11. You really knocked out those negative splits this week! Great job! I am trying to mix things up in my slow shuffle. I decided to do come intervals just to keep it different. It was quite the sweaty workout but I did feel good about it when I was done!
Last week Cindy really messed me up so it’s back on the ol train this week. It was a bit cooler this morning though so I’ll take it!

Slowing down for sure …both intentionally and unintentionally! Air travel is truly exhausting …add in delays and meetings/appointments, you’ve got more than enough reason to take a few rest days! Good luck with the interviews …can’t wait to hear what you’ve got going 🙂
