It’s not Spring, it is Sprummer! Weekly wrap

I don’t know about you and where you live but it is not Spring, it is Sprummer here in Central Florida!  WTH?  Spring was too short and we are on a fast pace to Summer!  That’s ok, I am on a fast pass to run Utah, right?  So bring it on!  No pressure when you agree to meet your running coach for a destination race is there? NAH!!!  HA!

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s weekly wrap- make sure you stop by and visit our hostesses with the mostessest,  Holly and Tricia!

Sunday on the plan:  I moved my Sunday long run to Saturday so I got to fully enjoy the entire day.  Church service and lunch with the family was nice and the weather was beautiful!

This week’s most liked pic on Instagram– thanks for following!

Monday on the plan:  60 minutes of Yin Yoga is a great jump-start to the week.  I am getting the hang of the slower movements and learning how to be still for the entire pose.  AVG HR 68  I came home and followed that up with a 40 minute walk around the neighborhood.  AVG HR 100

Tuesday on the plan:  Pace ladder workout=  400M/400M/800M/800M/400M/400M.  I am not going to lie, this run put a smile on my face!  Ladder times:  9:31/9:41/9:34/9:34/9:27/9:11  AVG HR 144

The hubby was out-of-town for a huge hunk of the week so I met my BRF at Flow yoga for a 75 minute class.  This class has a lot more movement and we really worked on balance and core work.  AVG HR 84

Wednesday on the plan:  Rest day!  I did feel the need to get in a 45 minute walk.  I waited until 9 am to go out to help myself get adjusted to the rising temperatures.  AVG HR 110

Did you have an opportunity to see Boston:  An American Running Story?  I loved it!  I found out that they were showing the film over at Lakeland so my BRF and I made plans to attend.

The history, the real stories, the music, it was truly inspirational!  I think everyone who left the theatre thought they too could run a marathon.  Although I am not ready to run 26.2 miles in what looks like my bikini bottom I would definitely love to be a race volunteer for the day- just once!

Thursday on the plan:  With the Boston story fresh on my mind I set out to do a 3 mile progression run.  I knew if I started off slow I could pull out some good numbers and I did!  11:01/10:32/10:07  BAM!  Another smile on my runner face!  AVG HR 152

Some of you may have run this past weekend in the Disney World Star Wars 10K of Half marathon.  I had the opportunity to join the ambassador team for the Hot Chocolate 15K series and work the booth.  My daughter joined us for the morning and it is always inspiring to see and talk to other runners.  It always amazes me that runners come in so many shapes and sizes and they are ALL so excited to be at Disney!  I ended the day up with 15680 steps- I was busy!

Friday on the plan:  30 minutes of cross training and drills.  I usually do my ActivMotion bar on this day but I failed to make it happen.  I did not do it first thing when I woke up and the day got away from me!  Next weekend I have the big baby shower for my daughter-in-law and I started on my spring cleaning checklist before the hubby came home from his trip.  Oh yeah, 6720 steps and I never left the house!

Saturday on the plan:  REST.  I thought about making up Friday’s workout but my right knee was feeling achy, day 2 so the thought quickly passed!  My hubby was quick to share with me his idea of the spring cleaning check list and well the rest of the day was history!  Early to bed for the Sunday 9 miler that was on my plan and it was going to be a warm one!

How was your week?  See the movie?  Is it Spring now where you live?  It is not Spring here, I think I will call is Sprummer!

I forgot about the movie and missed it 🙁

So far it’s spring/winter and then it’s spring/summer. No consistency.

I love volunteering but don’t do it early enough. Kudos to you and for getting in your workouts despite the heat.

I’m off to Fla on May 3. I will feel your pain 🙂

  3. Great job on your runs this week! I love your tank top! I agree with it feeling like “sprummer” here too in south Mississippi! However this morning temps were in the 50’s! So crazy!

  4. I have not had a chance to see the movie yet but everyone seems to enjoy it. We have not gotten into summer temps yet but looks like they are coming just in time for my race this weekend

  5. We’ve got spring here in Chicago–it’s been gorgeous the last couple of days. 70s and sunny, everything is “greening up” as my father-in-law likes to say. He had another goofy expression yesterday–he said the trees were “leafing out”. I don’t know where this comes from–I can only blame Wisconsin…

Have a great week, my friend!

Pressure? No pressure at all! We’ll just run down that mountain. Easy breezy. Like Wendy said, it’s finally spring here. My deck furniture is out. I’d like to hit the pause button right here for about a month.

I know you can relate. 2 Aprils ago I ran ZOOMA Austin 12K on a Saturday then the Divas 5K in Galveston on a Sunday and about sweat to death!

  8. It was like winter was back last week, we even had snow 🙁 However, we are back to spring temps! I’m looking forward to seeing that movie!!

  9. Here in NC, it has been very warm but then it turned chilly and rainy Sunday…and still is. Typical spring here, either it’s blazing hot or we’re bundled up. 😀

  10. Sprummer! I love it 😉 It does finally feel like spring in Iowa, the flowering trees are blooming and all the bulbs are in bloom as well. Ahhhh…I wish it would last a tiny bit longer…..

Oh, gosh, spring cleaning could eat up several weekends at my house. And, we are having crazy weather too – from 80s to 50s and now 90s predicted for this weekend. It’s insane!

Girl, you are killing those paces on your runs! Doesn’t look like the heat and humidity is slowing Skippy down at all! 🙂

Yes, we saw the Boston movie and loved it as well. The history lesson was worth going for in itself.

Have fun with that baby shower! Spring cleaning??? Ugh… just can’t make myself go there.

Thanks Teresa! Slow and steady and then you get adjusted pretty well. I loved the Boston history too, they did a very nice job with the film 🙂

  15. I would have loved to see the Boston movie. Hope it will be available online soon.
It was summer this past weekend in SoCal but was a bit cooler today. It’s supposed to warm up again.

Beautiful shot of the glowing Easter lily. And slow and meditative yin yoga sounds like a great way to start your week. It’s definitely not summery here. Rain, rain, rain is the story of our winter and spring, breaking the rain record that was set only last year. Good thing my exercise is inside!

Spring cleaning! I do absolutely LOVE this time of year. Out with the clutter – it seems we always get so much useless junk built up if we don’t keep a handle on it. And, I’m not sure I could live in your weather – good to visit, but holy humid batman. Although, I do run early in the morning – so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad?

The humidity starts first thing in the morning but if you are out early at least the sun is screaming down on your head quite so bad! I am with you- out with the clutter!

  18. I got in a bit of a cleaning mode before we headed to the campground. Yea when I do, I throw away all kinds of crap! I get to the point where I’m just tired of looking at it and if it doesn’t have a “place” it’s out the door!
The baby shower should be so much fun. I like planning things like that.
We had our Easter cool snap a week late. I’m not complaining, I got to enjoy a campfire without sweating and we even had soup. I’m sure it’ll be our last one, in fact, it’s supposed to be 85 today! 🙁 We’re skipping right over Spring too.

Disney is always so many steps! I hope you had fun at the expo 🙂 It seems like a cool experience to work at the booth and have the opportunity to talk to so many runners. It hasn’t gotten that hot up here yet so I was definitely feeling the heat in Florida this weekend.

  20. I remember those days from TX — I don’t miss that! I do miss the winters, however.

I’d be smiling with those paces too. 🙂

Today it is raining and gray and barely 50. Good practice for my weekend. I really should’ve run today to practice in the rain more!

Seriously. What is it about running in a bikini bottom (with bad tan lines). Will boy shorts slow you down that much? Curious minds… I’m with you on Sprummer. I know not of this Spring people speak of. The baby shower is next weekend already? Time is flying. You’ll be a new Skippy in no time! Thanks for linking, MB!

    • MB says:

I know seriously can we not run in regular bottoms????? UGH, 91 degrees here today, yup- that is sprummer! Skippy is pumped, 5 weeks to go!!!!
