New Orleans bound- Weekly Wrap

New Orleans bound:


When you read this I will be knee deep I hope in an adult beverage in the fun city of New Orleans!  Before we head out for all the fun, let’s recap the week and join Holly and Tricia for the Weekly Wrap!

If you missed Friday’s post please check it out.  It will give you a little background as to some of the things I plan on doing while in the Big Easy.

Sunday on the plan:  9 miles.  Coach M wanted me to do 3 easy miles, 3 miles at a 10:00/10:15 pace and then 3 easy miles.  I just wanted to live thru 9 miles.  Sunday I logged a MB world record on how many times a person can stop for the potty in one long run.  Pitiful!  I hit one mile in the 10:00 range.  Yup, I was just happy to be alive!  1:46:05  AVG HR 155


Monday on the plan:  REST and Yoga.  I felt ambitious and made it to the 8am Yin Yoga class.  It is spring break here and I can’t believe how nice it is in the morning without the school kids on the road!  The class is getting easier for me, I think I am learning to settle into the pose and be still for the 3-5 minutes.  It is a work in progress.  AVG HR 80

Tuesday on the plan:   4 X 400 M was on tap and I was a little slow to get moving.  Let’s just say last nights dinner did not sit well so I nibbled on a piece of toast before tackling this run!  I got my warm up mile in, then the 4 X 400 M at 10:07/10:00/10:01/10:00 but the cool down mile was tough!  AVG HR 153


Wednesday on the plan:  REST and Kayaking!  My gal pal Wendy is hanging out with her parents in Anna Maria Island and that is too good to pass up!  I found a cool little place, the Happy Paddler, and we were booked for a nice relaxing kayak ecotour!  We had a FABULOUS day!  We visited, we paddled, we saw dolphins playing, birds, a dead shark and we paddled some more!  Wendy and I got to sit back and relax at a little hotspot she likes for grouper sandwiches and a nice cold beverage.  It truly was a FANTASTIC day!  I keep telling Wendy, Florida looks good on her, she will be back. 🙂  AVG HR 81


Thursday on the plan:  This is the first day in a week that I woke up feeling pretty good.  I think the sun and girl time must have been just want I needed.  Coach M had a 3 mile progression run for me and I went out and gave it my best shot!  10:42/10:04/10:00 I was hoping to get that last mile in at 9:50 but 10:00 was all I had in me!  Anyway, this one was a confidence booster and I am ready.

Friday on the plan:  30 minutes of cardio.  Time for the ActivMotion bar.  Level 2 is a great challenge and last week I could really feel it in my core.  My bar may only weigh 4.5 pounds but it is packing a punch!  AVG HR 99

I finished the day off with packing and blogging.  Our plane takes off at 6:00am tomorrow morning and we will be in New Orleans by 9:30am.  According to my weather channel,  we are in for rain on Saturday but the race on Sunday looks free and clear!  I will end my recap here and share all about New Orleans next time!  Make sure you are following on Instagram as I will be posting as the weekend goes along!

      New Orleans was nice and hot and sticky! True running in the south! That shark was stinky! We just happen to find him floating in the water- I was surprised he wasn’t eaten up yet!

  13. I miss you! I told my office manager today that I’m changing careers. I’m going to be a SUP yoga instructor and I’m moving to Florida. No one is taking me seriously, which is kind of troubling…
