May is my month- Week 1 recap

May is my month!  Love it! There is Mother’s day, my birthday and Memorial day!  I am also coming to the end of my FMLA period and it is time to make some serious decisions.  I have loved my time off but my sense of responsibility to my family is kicking in.  Hopefully I will find a happy medium.

Do you read your horoscope?  I do not religiously but from time to time I think it is fun.  Since May is my month this is my forecast straight from the Saturn sisters!

Happy birthday beautiful Bull! May brings ample opportunities to move forward on multiple fronts. Now that’s the gift you’ve been waiting for from the stars. Everything begins to shift on the 3rd, after Mercury finally goes direct. You’ve been under the shadow of too many retrograde planets for too long. Your ruler Venus is now swiftly moving forward, and when the communication planet follows her, your momentum will become unstoppable. Note that this won’t happen all at once or overnight, because Mercury will continue to be a little wonky for at least another week. That’s why even though all cylinders are firing now, you should take your to-do list one step at a time. And you may have to put the brakes on for just a moment as you approach the Full Moon on the 10th. That’s because this lunation hits your opposite sign, and this can be challenging for your relationships. You’re being asked not to merely deepen your partnerships, but to interrogate your relationship with yourself. On the other hand, you might simply feel as sexy as all get-out, so you’re not bound to a heavy emotional drama. After the 20th the Sun moves into your financial zone, opening up myriad opportunities to make bank. This peaks at the New Moon on the 25th, when it pays to put your financial goals in writing. Think forward to the next six months, and pencil in all that you want to achieve – in hard numbers. The month closes out on a potentially stressful and frenzied note, so prepare self-care rituals accordingly.

Monday on the plan:  REST and Yin Yoga!  Never miss a Monday and I did not!  AVG HR 70  Namaste!

Tuesday on the plan:  4 X 800  I was happy with this run! 9:41/9:59/9:49/9:26  HAPPY HAPPY!  AVG HR 148

I finished off the day with a golf date with the hubby!  9 holes of golf after work and I played pretty well.  The extra core work is paying off and I am hitting the ball longer and stronger!      AVG HR 91

Wednesday on the plan:  Slow Flow Yoga.  This class has a nice slow flow of movement from start to finish and really provided a nice stretch for those muscles I used on Tuesday.  AVG HR 80

Thursday on the plan:  4 miles with a fast finish.  I purposely went out a little later for this run although my hubby had me awake at 4am as he got ready for an early flight.  I have an evening 5K coming up Mother’s day weekend and it is always a scorcher.  Best as I could 10:10 was the fastest I could pull out- I was hoping for a little more.  Next time!  AVG HR 150

I talked my daughter into coming over for lunch and a little kayak adventure on the lake.  The water was choppy so it made the 35 minutes a great arm workout.  I will take it!  I enjoyed getting a little sun as well.  AVG HR 91

Friday on the plan:  ActivMotion bar workout and drills.  I opted for the Ignite Core workout and it does make the workout fun.  I don’t usually like the core part but since my hubby complimented my golf drive well, I better stick with it!  The results are showing!  45 minutes AVG HR 103

Saturday on the plan:  REST!  and rest I did!  Washed my car, watched a movie and putzed all day. Heaven!

So May is my month week one is complete and the stars are aligning for a great month of activities and a momentum that can’t be stopped, I like it!

    Kayaking looks so fun, I haven’t done it since last summer I didn’t bring a kayak with me when I moved. But you’ve got me wanting to do some for sure now!
    Love the beautiful Cyprus wood picture, I could run through area’s like that, so pretty!

  7. May is your month! Like you, I’m gearing up to go back to work. I’m in discussions with my manager about making changes to my schedule, which might include a little time in the newborn nursery. Stay tuned for that!

      Thank you Katie! You have to learn to enjoy golf, maybe invest in a couple lessons and build some confidence up 🙂 I lived on this lake 10 years before I bought the kayaks, I have no idea what I was waiting on!

I also am scheduled for a Mother’s Day 5k but am uncertain now (stupid hamstring). But you’d better believe if somebody said “skiing” to me…I’d say “What Hammie?” LOL.
