The Magic inside- Birchbox and Me!

The Magic Inside:

Pretty beauty packaging might have us at hello, but in the long run it’s what’s on the inside that matters the most.

This was the message this month in my Birchbox, isn’t it the truth?  I think Birchbox proved there point by sending us all plain brown boxes.  Nothing flashy on the outside but full of great stuff on the inside, you just have to take off the lid!

This Sunday is Easter and it is spring!  Time to peel off the layers, think about shorts, sandals, short sleeves and warm temperatures!  I am here to share the magic.  the magic inside a Birchbox subscription and 5 of my favorite products that I cannot live without this spring!

I will admit if I am doing a quick 5 at 5 mile run in the morning I may barely get my teeth brushed and some chapstick on.  However, most of the time I am hitting yoga with a friend, getting in the long run or running then stopping for a few errands.  Do I want to look like hell?  Well, hell no!  But we must all multi-task, right?  Thru my Birchbox subscription I has been introduced to some great products that now I simply can not live without.

Supergoop!  SPF 50- you have to have it!  It sprays on nice, it gives my skin a nice vitamin C sheen and it smells great.  I hate to smell like a coconut and after running a few miles no one wants to smell like a long night of pina coladas either!  A quick spray down my shoulders and arms and I am ready to go!  $19.00

Dr. Jart+ BB Beauty Balm SPF 45  I have tried many of these beauty balms and this one is my favorite.  High SPF, goes on nicely and has a nice tint.  If the sun is out, I am not out without this on my face.  $39.00

Stila stay all day liquid lipstick  So many people ask me how I can run a half marathon in Florida and still have my lipstick on for the finish line pictures.  This stuff is magic!  I simply cannot leave for a race without my race lips on, I mean, what would people say?  $24.00

Klorane dry shampoo with oat milk  We have all done it.  We got the workout in and then realize we need to be in a meeting in 45 minutes.  There is no time to completely start over so you grab a can of dry shampoo.  I have tried several brands thru this program and this one is my favorite.  It goes on nicely and not white, rub it in and shake it out and I am on my way!  It must be the oat milk- trust me it works.  $20.00

Madison Reed  Ok, I will confess, I go to the beauty shop every 6 weeks.  I will also confess that I should really go every 4 to 5 weeks.  I call them sparklers and those suckers sprout out on the top of my head like a parade.  When you add up the cost of getting your hair done and narrowing the gap on the appointment time those $$$ add up quickly.  Madison Reed makes a Root Touch Up compact that really does the trick!  I can get the last week or two out of my hair color by covering the grey and no one will know!  Hello, that is more money for race entries and shoes!  $29.95

So how does Birchbox work?  Click here to get started.  Complete a profile and you will receive a box monthly with 5 products based on your profile.  Seriously,  this is the subscription service that started it all!  $10 a month and it is a great investment.  You can also earn points by doing a quick review of your products.  Points equal dollars.  Dollars equal free product from the Birchbox store!

Half marathon complete!

Mother’s day is right around the corner, do something nice for yourself.  In just a few clicks your Birchbox with all the magic inside can be on its way to you!  Finally, before checkout enter the code STRETCH and a free Smashbox Cosmetics Mascara will be added to your first box!

So confess, what is the one thing you cannot leave the house without putting on?  Do you race in full face?

  3. I do not do BirchBox, but I do get Ipsy bags for $10 a month, they are a bit more makeup themed though. This looks fun though – I would use the dry conditioner and sunscreen for sure.

I need to try that lipstick! I’m saving this post so I can quickly refer back to these products!

  9. Fun post! I don’t ever leave the house without my lip paint. It’s the ONE thing I have to put on, even when I’m otherwise not wearing makeup. My color has been discontinued (egad!) and I have not been able to find a good substitute. I think I will check out the Stila brand!

  11. I think I”m letting myself go. I used to always put on lipstick when I leave the house, now it’s chapstick. I do have one of those root touch up mascara thingies, tho. I have so much gray and it really distresses me. I go every 4 weeks and sometimes I think I should go sooner!
