Live, Love and Laugh in 2017!

Live, love and laugh in 2017!  This is my motto, my word(s), my plan for 2017.  It is time to get it together, the year has kicked off and although it has had a tough start I can also say 2016 had a tough finish.  I have much to be happy about, thankful about and downright proud!

Live!  I live in the sunshine state and every day is a chance to get outside, kick my goals in the a$$ and just love doing what I like to do.  Does this mean another year with Coach M?  Oh, hell yea!  She ain’t done with me yet!

2015 556 miles ran –  2016  820 miles ran!!!

2015 PR record:

and drumroll please…………….  2016 PR record:

I didn’t just meet my goal of a sub 30 5K I nailed it in the midsummer Florida heat! BAM!  My half marathon pace? 13 minutes shaved! Say What?  No one has ever seen me move that fast!  What did it take?  A plan (Coach M), the determination, and a great support system (family and friends)!  You want it?  Live it!  🙂  Life begins outside and outside your comfort zone!

LOVE!  I love being outside and I love to travel!  2016 I ran a very cold 5K  in Wisconsin and I attended a yoga and run weekend in Cape Cod.  That is 2 new states on my quest bringing my total to 7 states!  Can I add a few more in 2017?  Best Damn Race in New Orleans- booked!  Add NOLA to my state map!  Where else am I running off too?  Who knows, you will have to stay posted!

The hubby and I added a couple kayaks to our backyard and I could not be happier.  I see some warm weather kayak adventures with the hubby coming up (he may not have caught on to that yet) – shh we won’t tell him yet!

I love my yoga practice.  It has made a big difference in my agility and core strength.  My goal is to yoga just a bit more.  I plan on trying different yoga classes and taking advantage of some of the new class times.  Do what you love, love what you do!

LAUGH!  I have worked in the nursing home industry for 25 years now.  One thing I have learned is that people who laugh live longer and you MUST be able to laugh at yourself!  Zipline over the desert with your best friends for your birthday?  YES!  Ghost tours and cooking classes in New Orleans?  YES!  Take your daughter on her first hunting trip while your run your coldest 5K ever? YES!  Meet a house full of women you have never met in person for a long weekend in Panama City?  YES! LMAO Yes!

Laughter is the best medicine!  Find your fun spot, your happy place and friends that add to the party!  This is the year to live, love and laugh!  Yes, I will log in the miles- I am shooting for 850 and add a destination or three!  Las Vegas, DC, Ireland, Indy, no one knows where my feet will go! #holottafun

Do what you love, love what you do!  Cheers to a year of live, love and laugh! Life without a little laughter is no life at all!  I hope to see on my 2017 journey!

Catch my year in medals right here!  and stop by and visit Marcia, Erika, and Patty  for Tuesday on the Run fun!

  1. You are pretty lucky to live in the sunshine state. I am jealous. I like the hot weather so I do not think the summers would even bother me.

I bet! It was 48 degrees yesterday morning (that is cold for us) and I got outside and ran- felt like I was flying! When the sun comes out it is in the 70’s- I can’t complain! Time to plan a warm race cation!

  8. That group trip must have been a blast, I can only imagine the fun you all had! Oh and that sand, looks like the whitest sand ever, so pretty!
Love that you got kayaks, I don’t own one yet but I need one. I borrowed my sisters a lot last summer, didn’t realize I was going to love it as much as paddleboarding!!!
