I am just putzing around! Weekly wrap

Good morning or it may be afternoon by the time I quit putzing around and get this update posted! I was even up early this morning but seem to be in no giant hurry.  Ever feel that way?  Nice thing is when you are the blogger you can make your own schedule!  So thanks for stopping by and make sure you head over to visit with Holly and Tricia as well.  Active women supporting active women is the name of the game!

Sunday on the plan:  9 miles.  I think I may have mentioned this already but damn it is heating up down here!  The weekend long run still involves bridge work times 2 and I am not stopping!  1:51:00 AVG HR 152

Monday on the plan:  NEVER MISS A MONDAY!  A Monday for yoga that is!  I am really getting the hang of this Yin yoga class.  Each pose is held 3-5 minutes and it not only challenges my body but also my mind!  60 min AVG HR 73  awwwww namaste!  I felt so good later I decided to get a 35 minute walk in!  AVG HR 107

Tuesday on the plan:  3 X 1600M.  I love these challenges and wanted to really see some miles back at the 10:00 minute pace.   10:05/10:15/9:44  BAM!! That made me smile! Total for 5.2 miles AVG HR 154

I promised my BRF I would go to yoga with her so back to the studio I went for Yoga flow 2-3.  Geez she turned us every which way!  It was a challenging class and I always feel like a warrior when I am done!  75 minutes  AVG HR  84

Wednesday on the plan:  REST day!  Well I did have some pruning/putzing on my to-do list, so Fitbit gave me credit for 27 minutes of walking.  AVG HR 97.  I am still getting the house baby shower ready!

Thursday on the plan:  3 miles plus strides.  3.2 miles total at 34:57 AVG HR 149

Friday on the plan:  30 minutes of cross training plus drills.  I got out my trusty ActivMotion bar and did a 30 minute workout and I felt strong!  I love feeling results and being able to complete the advanced positions!  Drills done and AVG HR 96

I fixed turkey meatballs and spaghetti for dinner and my daughter was over for the night.  Big 5K in the morning and Flat Skippy is ready!  Time to beat on this course is 33:08.

Saturday on the plan:  Carillon Classic Bok Tower 5K.  This race has always been considered a tough 5K for Florida.  The race includes elevation changes, paved road, grass, gravel, mulch and sand all in 3 miles.  You do finish the race by running around the beautiful tower with the bells playing and it is pretty magical!

Thank you!  This week’s most engaging post on Instagram!

It was a warm 73 degrees to start and I took off like a rocket!  8:42 for the first mile (what??? who is this?) miles 2 & 3 I held steady in the 9’s and earned a finish time of 30:12!  That is a hair short of 3 minutes off my fastest time ever on this course!!  I finished 5th out of 23 in my age group- the fast old ladies showed up!  You never know but that is a good size group for only 397 runners!

I took my daughter and my smiling self home so I could get the rest of my miles in.  Now it is 83 degrees and thank goodness Coach M said to skip the bridge work!  I ended up with 8.25 miles total for the day and I was out of steam and steaming, really!  The hubby and I finished our chores and got ready for a neighborhood birthday party.

I hate to leave you now because tomorrow is the baby shower and oh my it was a fun one!  You will have to come back and catch some pictures and the details.  The baby now has a middle name!

See it is after 12 and I am still putzing around and do not have this thing finished!  May 1st is here and this is one of my favorite months!  Mother’s day, my birthday, and Memorial day are just a few highlights!

How was your week?  Any other May babies out there?

  14. My mom’s birthday is in may and it’s on the same day as her mom’s and the year she was born it was also Mother’s day. I also have some relatives and friends who have May bdays and of course there are also a few graduations. May is always a busy (and expensive) month for us!

Great job beating your time, especially in that heat. The weather here is uncomfortable to run in now so I can only imagine the misery you are going through with the heat. Hang in there!

May does sounds like a big (expensive) month for you! It doesn’t take to long and I will be all heat adjusted! 🙂

  15. Congrats on your race! I’m really looking forward to the weather getting warmer here!
