Just one of those weeks…..Weekly Wrap

Have you ever had one of those weeks?  You know, for whatever reason it is just not coming together.  Weather was off, my speed was off, my tummy well- that was off too, just one of those weeks!  I guess we are all entitled to one here and there so I won’t dwell to much about it.  Let’s get this wrap up started!

Don’t forget to stop by and visit with Holly and Tricia– our hostess with the mostess!

Sunday on the plan:  Double digits!  Ten miles for this girl!  I was feeling pretty adventurous so we ran over and back twice on this bridge.  Nothing super fast for sure but steady is good!  Kept to a 12 minute mile AVG HR 150   Thanks everyone, this was also the most liked Instagram post for the week!

Monday on the plan:  REST and Yoga.  I am loving starting the week with a 60 minute yin yoga class and after the 10 miler yesterday, the hip stretches felt FABULOUS!  AVG HR 72 After I got  home and followed it up with a 30 minute walk.  AVG HR 105

Tuesday on the plan:  3 X 1600M at 80%.  I was really focusing on trying to hit the 80% mark.  I felt like I gave it 80% effort.  10:29/11:15/11:26  5.2 miles AVG HR 151

Wednesday on the plan:  REST- nailed that!  I am getting some spring cleaning done- so I feel productive about that.  Oh yay, what spring?  Temps plummet in central Florida and are expected to be below 40, seriously?

Thursday on the plan:  That weather man was right!  Temperature is 40 degrees and this Florida runner is cold.  It was cold and windy and I broke out the thumbholes for the 4 miles on my schedule with a fast finish that wasn’t nearly fast enough!  4 miles  10:30/mile avg  AVG HR 156

Friday on the plan:  30 minutes cardio plus drills.  I am getting confident with my ActivMotion bar and bumped myself up to level two!  Even as cool as it is I still broke a nice healthy sweat.  This level adds even more core work and let’s just say, I am feeling it!  AVG HR 95

The hubby and I spent the afternoon watching the Detroit Tigers vs. the New York Yankees.  The stadium was packed!  We may have finished the evening with a couple of adult Irish beverages downtown.  Just call me McSkippy!

Check out this post if you missed it- I have a sweet deal for you!

Saturday on the plan:  REST.  Well, not really.  My daughter and I drove across town to help with the Junior League Mobile food pantry.  We have worked this project for a couple of years now but it was one of those mornings.  Nothing went right.  The site had to be moved down the street, the truck had to be unloaded by hand, and we took 30 minutes longer than usual to set up.  We helped a ton of families that morning but let’s say that 48 pound bags of potatoes, cases of canned beef and cases of peanut butter provided quite the strength workout I was not expecting.  AVG HR 104

Even though I felt like it was just one of those weeks, I leave next Saturday for New Orleans!  It will be time to meet up with Tricia and run the Best Damn Race!  So ready or not it is taper week and time to let the excitement rise!

Sometimes just one of those weeks will have to be good enough, what do you think?

  5. 40 is so warm for us . . . especially with all the snow on the ground. Sure won’t look like spring tomorrow.

I’ve had quite a few of those sort of weeks lately, but thankfully this week wasn’t so bad.

Mile repeats — they’re no joke!

  8. Thumbholes are the best. We had a lovely warm up this week and Montana was warmer than Florida! 🙂 after a snowy run Monday I was running in tanks and shorts the rest of the week and loving it. Yoga really is divine for runners isn’t it?!

40 degrees would be considered warm here, lol. I think today we’re supposed to hit 50 degrees so I’m happy about that!

I love that you were able to volunteer with the mobile food pantry even though it was a lot of work!

Have so much fun at BDR! I wish I was going to be there with you!

I had a pretty miserable week as far as things coming together. It happens, but that doesn’t make it easier.

My friends have been going to all the Tigers games. Mr PugRunner and my dad went to see the Yankees a few weeks ago. I just haven’t been able to get away to join them.

McSkippy …I like! I have to tell you that I’m really enjoying your adventures of being off work! So much so, that it is making me rethink the idea of finding a part time job! 🙂 I got a mani/pedi this morning at 10 am with no wait time and it felt fabulous to just walk in with no waiting. I’m kind of liking this “unemployment” gig myself!

Have fun this weekend in NOLA with the gang and run like the wind!
