My January Report Card

Hello February!  Before I get started with a new month, let’s take a quick look at my January report card!  Thank you Coach Marcia for the great idea!  Make sure you check her progress report as well!  The focus of 2017 for me is to live, love and laugh!  How did I do?

LIVE!  Live I did!  I hit every single scheduled run for a total of 77.41 miles for the month of January.  Where did I suck?  Cross training!  I just have to do better.  I know I cannot just run all the miles but I have to get some cross training in.  So I am looking at a couple of things but I need to look faster and quit stalling.  Yah, I admit I may be somewhat of a procrastinator.   GRADE  B

LOVE!  I will admit in this category it has been a tough month.  With the loss of my mom came a lot of extra questions, duties, and responsibilities that have continued to swirl around in my head. Around and around.  I am happy to report that I made it to 5 yoga classes.  This extra time to myself completely unplugged and focused on the class has been wonderful!  I posted 11 blog posts this month and was invited into an Instagram pod.  Sometimes a little diversion is a good thing! GRADE B

LAUGH!  You can say I have done some laughing this past month watching the Green Bay Packers!  Whew!  I am kind of glad their football season is over and I am not sure if I will take the time to even watch the Super Bowl.  We have had company in and out of our house all month and a little time to ourselves is nice right now.  January is always a big planning month for me and I will admit I am behind.  I did register for the Best Damn Race in New Orleans where I will be meeting Tricia for a fantastic half marathon run around the city.  Just thinking about it puts a big smile on my face.  There will be more trips to come, we all need more laughter in our lives!  GRADE  B

Overall I give my month of January a B.  You know I am more of an A+ kind of girl so I have some room for improvement! What does your January report card look like?

Thank you Marcia, Patty and Erika for the link up!

I think you did great. I like your way of thinking – Live, Love and Laugh!!

If you got an A you won’t be motivated to do better, right?

I gave my running a B+ for January, which was great given that I also had a lot going on outside of running and could have let it all detract from my fitness! Loving the energy I seem to have this month!!

  5. Marcia says:

I gotta say I love your goals. That’s the stuff that truly matters. Coach M will be contacting you shortly re: crosstraining. :p

  7. I also procrastinate when it comes to cross training. Finding barre was key for me. It may not be super heavy weights, but something is better than nothing!

  10. I missed two really big race weekends due to not training well enough and sickness. I logged 62.13 miles so I will take it! So sorry for the loss of your mom. I’m sure that was devastating. Have fun with Tricia in New Orleans! It’s always nice to have something to look forward to!

  11. Wow! I love that you framed your goals within Live, Love, and Laugh! I think you did a great job in all 3 categories. It’s hard not to think we need to excel at everything. It sounds like you had a very good balance!

  13. I’d give myself a B- towards my goals but an A for the variety of activities I accomplished. Way to push through some hard times and remain active.

  18. Sorry to hear about your mother. Losing a loved one is tough. Good to hear you were able to find peace and release in your yoga classes.
My January report card? Not much running as I slowly build up to my regular weekly mileage after a break from my hamstring acting up again. And I spent two weeks learning various handstand prep poses from an Insta challenge I participated in.

  19. Given all that you had going on, you did an incredible job in January. Here’s to a much less stressful February for all of us.
