Happy Mother’s Day to All!

If you missed by proclamation, May is my month!  I feel some good things are coming my way and I tend to just play and celebrate all month long!  I received my official invite Tuesday night from my kids to a Mother’s day brunch at their house.  Excitement fills my heart thinking about it.  They are working so hard to get ready for baby Luna and are ready to show off a little!

In the back of my mind, my thoughts still wonder to the woman who is no longer here.  I have not spent the last 9 years of Mother’s days with her as she had moved out of state.  However, the funny Mother’s day memories still stick with me.  Homemade crafts, free breakfast at McDonald’s, days at Mayfair on the Lake and fancy brunches as I got older still flash thru my mind.  I hope she knows I am thinking of her still.

The beauty of Mother’s day is you don’t really have to be a Mom to celebrate.  Take the time to celebrate those women who have stepped up and been an important part in your life.  Aunts, older sisters, family friends, mentors, and lord have mercy, don’t forget those stepmoms!

My kids and I laugh as I proclaim, all I want for Mother’s day is jelly beans and world peace (notice which one comes first) but I will leave you with this:

Mother’s day is special, no matter how you celebrate it

Offer yourself in the way of your

Time and

Heart, she is worth the

Remember she is

Don’t procrastinate

Although gifts are nice, she really wants

Your time!

I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend!

Happy Mother’s Day!  Share one of your favorite memories.

  1. This is so sweet! Your mother’s day is going to be tough without your mom, but you also have so much goodness to celebrate too. I truly believe life is circular and I’m so happy you have your little grandbaby (and the other to come) in your life!

  7. So true about celebrating the women who had an impact on your life and serve their roles as a ‘mom’ to you. I appreciate my mom more now that I’m a mom myself.
Happy Mother’s Day and enjoy your brunch!

  11. This is such a sweet post. And I agree, you don’t have to have the official title of “mother” in order to fulfill a motherly role. There are so many non-traditional families out there where for whatever reason other women have had to step up and fulfill motherly roles.
