My Florida Favorite Races with MB

My Florida favorite races will be no SURPRISE to you!  For those who do not know me well, I was actually born in Indiana.  Yup, good ole midwestern girl at heart.  I was in the 5th grade when I moved to the sunshine state.  I went to the University of Florida.  It took me 10 years to pay off my student loans.  I am a Florida girl! 🙂  I am not a huge fan of temperatures below 40 degrees so there is no better place to be a runner than the state of Florida!  We run year round and we run outside!

Let’s get this year running, shall we!  Let me introduce my Florida favorite races.

If you can visit Central Florida at the end of January then you should be here for the Celebration Marathon.  Next year will be the 5th race and I hope it will be even bigger and more fun.  They have a half and a full marathon option.  The course is flat, fast and a Boston qualifier, beautiful, scenic, well attended and the after party!  Can you say show me the food?  It is like a little mini Epcot experience with all the local restaurants participating.  The registration fee is low and in the past has included race shirts from Raw Threads and items like beach towels and insulated cups!  Add this one to your list!

Ok, so January is to soon to travel after Christmas?  Well what about February?  ARRRRRRRR, me smells a pirate!  That is right, Gasparilla!  Do you miss my recaps?  Click here and here.  February in Tampa Bay is a great time and place to run.  The run offers a 5K, 8K, 15K and Half marathon, challenges and the opportunity to have a great time!  I guarantee you the registration fees are a lot lower than Disney who usually has a competing race that same weekend.  I will keep you posted when registration opens up!

Ok, if you live in Florida it is starting to heat up.  This is when many of us like to race in other states so let’s fast forward to fall.  Do you celebrate a little thing at your house called, “hunting season”  or just itching to get out in October?  Well, meet me in Amelia Island for ZOOMA Florida!  This run offers a 5K beach run, 12K and half marathon and all races end on the beach!  Really, how many races can say that?  The race is followed by a beach front after party, post race shopping, bubbly, massages, yoga  and food!  I am excited to represent this series for the third year and would love to party on the beach with you!  Use code MARYBETH2017  when you register to save 10%.

Finally, let’s round off the year back in Tampa bay for the Hot Chocolate 5K/15K!  I am excited that they have asked me back for year two in Tampa and fingers crossed for cooler weather this year.  Check out last years recap if you missed it and you will know what I mean.  The race is December 17, 2017 and watch for more details.  You cannot beat the swag from this race, the medals are awesome and the after party and treats are one of a kind!  When I receive the news on the swag details and the bonus item I will share it with you.  Mark your calendar and remember TAMPAMB17 will be the magic code to score a free bonus item when you register!  Remember, it is America’s sweetest race!

That wraps up my Florida favorite races. So, did I tempt you?  Are you adding Florida to your racecation list?  Which one will it be?

I am linking up with Marcia, Erika and Patty for Tuesday on the Run please stop by and visit them all!

Always. Although I have never run any of those races. Maybe ZOOMA Fla this year but can’t decide…so many little time and money.

I have to decide between Cape Cod, Amelia Is and Las Vegas. So Fla may have to wait. I already have a race in NY on Oct 1.

    Which ones are you running?

  12. I’ve run Gasparilla a few times, most recently I did the challenge this year and I love it! I agree that the prices are better than Disney, but I’ll probably go back and do Princess next year just because it’s the 10th anniversary. Sigh. Disney certainly has a hold on me!

The Zooma one sounds fun- I’d like to try that. Have you ever run the Diva’s half? That one’s on my list too.
