I am 2 weeks out! 1st Half of 2017!

Time is ticking away and I cannot believe I am 2 weeks out to my first half marathon of 2017!  Am I excited?  As my hubby would say, do bears poop in the woods?  That’s a yes, for the ladies that read my blog!

This half is really exciting for me.  First off, it is an awesome event!  If you missed it last year read my recap here.  The swag is top-notch! And for those of you that have followed me for a while I started with Coach M last January.  I think exactly at this time, 2 weeks out before the Celebration half.  I am not a huge fan of running the same half twice but this will be a true measure and proof to myself that we are a combo that rocks!  So, no pressure on myself at all! LOL!

Let’s get to this week’s recap shall we?  Make sure you stop by and say howdy to Tricia and Holly too!  This work hard ever week to get this link up together!  Women supporting women!

Sunday on the plan:  REST!  If you are a football fan you know the Packers are in the playoffs!  I got outside for a quick 40 minute walk before the insanity started.  AVG HR 147  Packers are in it to win it!

Monday on the plan:  30 minutes cardio plus drills

What really happened:  Did you see that Packer game?  OMG!!!  I got in a 30 minute walk after work AVG HR 118 but no drills, didn’t have the right bra on :).

Tuesday on the plan:  4 mile donut- 1 easy mile, 2 miles at 10:00 and 1 easy mile

What really happened:  WAM BAM Thank you MA’AM!!!!  9:59/9:53!!!!   AVG HR  159

Wednesday on the plan:  REST!  Can’t Stop!  Hit yoga class- Slow Flow Yoga! The class ending pose was the pigeon pose- oh it felt so good!  60 minutes AVG HR 92

Thursday on the plan:  4 miles fast finish

What really happened:  11:56/10:25/10:01/9:52- fast finish it was!  AVG HR 158

Friday on the plan:  REST!  Nailed it!  I had the opportunity to try Home Chef subscription service so I made dinner at home!  Click here if you would like $30 off your first box!  My dish, French Onion Pasta bake,  was delish!

Saturday on the plan:  12 easy miles

What really happened:  I love it when Coach M puts the word easy and 12 together at the same time! I was a few minutes early so it was a great time to do some drills as my warm up and get all my body parts moving!  It was a nice 63 degrees when my BRF and I started but it was also 95% humidity.  It did not take long to work up a sweat.  This was our first run together in a couple of weeks so we had lots to catch up on.  AVG HR 159

The day was to pretty to pass up on a little more time outside.  After a quick shower and a post run meal I jumped in my kayak and went out on the lake.  This added a nice arm workout and a beautiful view!  I love how I can track all my workouts on my Fitbit.  This little excursion earned me 40 minutes in the fat burn zone with an AVG HR of 100.  SWEET!  I also earned this fun badge from Fitbit this week.

2 weeks out and I am feeling pretty good!  It’s been a very active week and I have loved meeting some new women in the ZOOMA Run Love Challenge too!

Who has a race in January?  Are you watching the football playoffs?  GOPACKGO!

I ran the Town of Celebration Half Marathon last year while on family vacation and LOVED it!! I’m running a half in all 50 states and managed to check off 5 states last year! Good luck!

  3. Wow, your one year anniversary with Coach M! How ever will you celebrate? With a PR of course… :p

Seriously, it has been so fun to watch you fly this year! I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings for you. <3

  4. What is a 4 mile donut run?
I was thinking about trying Home chef but I might wait till summer when I have more time since those boxes seem to be time consuming for me (which actually defeats the purpose..lol).

You seem to really like that half so I do hope you enjoy it and even beat your time from last year!

Let me tell you there is no donut at the end! One slow mile, 2 at pace and then one slow mile- I think Coach M made the whole thing up! LOL!

  5. Wow you are on fire lately! It’s really fun to watch and quite inspiring. I was thinking the same thing about the word easy and 12 miles 🙂
